Couple to have Britain's first baby genetically modified to be free of breast cancer gene

A woman is due to give birth next week to the first British child genetically designed to be free of the breast cancer gene.

A team of doctors screened her embryos and selected those free from the gene.

Experts say this medical first will bring hope to thousands of other families with a known history of the devastating disease.
